{"id":924,"date":"2023-02-27T12:19:51","date_gmt":"2023-02-27T14:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cnloer.m5i.com\/c-nlopb-releases-inaugural-annual-emissions-reduction-initiatives-report\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T12:58:02","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T15:28:02","slug":"c-nlopb-releases-inaugural-annual-emissions-reduction-initiatives-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cnloer.m5i.com\/fr\/c-nlopb-releases-inaugural-annual-emissions-reduction-initiatives-report\/","title":{"rendered":"C-NLOPB Releases Inaugural Annual Emissions Reduction Initiatives Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) is pleased to release its inaugural\u00a0<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/emrep\/emrep2022.pdf\"><u>Annual Emissions Reduction Initiatives Report<\/u><\/a>\u00a0for the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area.<\/p>\n<p>At the request of the Minister of Natural Resources Canada and the\u00a0Newfoundland and Labrador\u00a0Minister\u00a0of Industry, Energy and Technology, the C-NLOPB compiled\u00a0the\u00a0report, which\u00a0describes\u00a0work undertaken in 2022 by the oil and gas industry and others in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area\u00a0towards the reduction of Greenhouse\u00a0Gases\u00a0and achieving Net Zero emissions.<\/p>\n<p>The information in the report was provided by local operators, industry associations and research entities in response to a request by the C-NLOPB to outline their emissions reduction commitments and goals, highlight\u00a0progress to date, and describe research and development projects\u00a0that may lead to reduced emissions from petroleum-related activities in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClimate change is among the greatest global challenges of our generation and a\u00a0top\u00a0priority of the public interest in which we regulate,\u00a0on behalf of the Governments\u00a0and the people\u00a0of Canada\u00a0and Newfoundland and Labrador. The C-NLOPB thanks\u00a0local operators, industry associations and research entities\u00a0for their contributions to the inaugural Annual Emissions Reduction Initiatives Report.
