{"id":1752,"date":"2023-02-27T11:46:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-27T14:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cnloer.m5i.com\/?p=1752"},"modified":"2026-05-08T12:04:30","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T14:34:30","slug":"c-nlopb-releases-inaugural-annual-emissions-reduction-initiatives-report-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cnloer.m5i.com\/fr\/c-nlopb-releases-inaugural-annual-emissions-reduction-initiatives-report-2\/","title":{"rendered":"C-NLOPB Releases Inaugural Annual Emissions Reduction Initiatives Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) is pleased to release its inaugural&nbsp;<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/emrep2022.pdf\"><u>Annual Emissions Reduction Initiatives Report<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;for the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the request of the Minister of Natural Resources Canada and the&nbsp;Newfoundland and Labrador&nbsp;Minister&nbsp;of Industry, Energy and Technology, the C-NLOPB compiled&nbsp;the&nbsp;report, which&nbsp;describes&nbsp;work undertaken in 2022 by the oil and gas industry and others in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area&nbsp;towards the reduction of Greenhouse&nbsp;Gases&nbsp;and achieving Net Zero emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The information in the report was provided by local operators, industry associations and research entities in response to a request by the C-NLOPB to outline their emissions reduction commitments and goals, highlight&nbsp;progress to date, and describe research and development projects&nbsp;that may lead to reduced emissions from petroleum-related activities in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cClimate change is among the greatest global challenges of our generation and a&nbsp;top&nbsp;priority of the public interest in which we regulate,&nbsp;on behalf of the Governments&nbsp;and the people&nbsp;of Canada&nbsp;and Newfoundland and Labrador. The C-NLOPB thanks&nbsp;local operators, industry associations and research entities&nbsp;for their contributions to the inaugural Annual Emissions Reduction Initiatives Report.
